Corrosion Protection Foils

Protection for your Components

Corrosion protection films are a challenging topic within the film industry, and until now, the use of VCI films has provided only partial solutions. Losses caused by corrosion-related damage result in billions in costs each year. The VCI additives currently used in the production of polyethylene films often present several drawbacks, including strong odors, high material costs, insufficient effectiveness, and, not least, health concerns.

Our corrosion protection films offer the following advantages:

  • No unpleasant odors
  • Safe for health
  • Balanced price-performance ratio
  • No special handling required during processing
  • Free of nitrates, phosphates, and chromium compounds
  • Very high efficiency (tested according to DIN 50 017 KFW)
  • Easy to process further
  • High mechanical strength
  • Recyclable

VCI Foil Alternative

The innovative alternative is the use of VCI foils to prevent corrosion and reduce costs.

The VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) vaporizes and forms a protective layer on the packaged material, effectively protecting metal parts from rust during manufacturing, storage, or transport phases.

The VCI chemical evaporates from the carrier material (film, paper, or dispenser) and deposits a molecular protective layer on the metal surface inside the packaging. This protective agent reaches even hard-to-access areas, such as cavities, holes, internal threads, and folds. This layer acts as a barrier against moisture, salts, dirt, oxygen, and more. However, since it involves chemical substances, gloves should be worn when handling VCI products.

Available as stretch foils, flat foils, and foil bags with integrated corrosion protection.
